About the Client

Marianne Jonker is a photographer specializing in abstract photography, known for her unique and artistic approach to capturing moments. With a creative and imaginative style, she sought to share her work with a wider audience by offering high-quality prints for sale online, creating a platform that allows customers to connect with and purchase her prints.

Introduction

I was tasked with developing an ecommerce website for Marianne Jonker to sell her photography as prints online, creating an elegant and user-friendly platform to showcase and purchase her work.

Project Overview

The initial goals for the Marianne Jonker ecommerce website were to create a clean design inspired by example sites shared by the client, streamline the ordering process, ensure all print and frame options had clear pricing, and link the 'Gallery' to the product page for easy navigation.

My Role

My role was to bring the vision to life, advising the client on best practices, finding ways to keep content updates simple, and ensuring unused elements were hidden to maintain a streamlined and functional site.

Challenges

The main challenges were managing image cropping for the homepage, ensuring different images were used for the product pages, and keeping the product images organized and ordered.

Planning & Research

The client and I had several discussions about shipping and delivery costs, how to best display certain elements, and ensuring the correct information was featured on the homepage for clarity and ease of navigation.
